Ben Mildenhall is a cofounder of World Labs, where he works on problems at the intersection of graphics, 3D computer vision, and generative AI. From 2021 to 2023, he was a research scientist at Google Research. He completed his PhD in computer science from UC Berkeley in 2020, advised by Ren Ng and supported by a Hertz Fellowship. His thesis work on neural radiance fields was recognized by the 2021 ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award Honorable Mention and 2020 David J. Sakrison Memorial Prize. He has also received the 2025 SIGGRAPH Significant New Researcher Award, as well as paper awards at ECCV 2020, ICCV 2021, CVPR 2022, and ICLR 2023.
